It's hot, its hot, its very, very hot!!!!

The digital display on Main Street said it was 104 degrees. I believe it. It's the first day we really needed the cooler. It's been different today. Kylee's mom is on a new schedule. She doesn't go to work until 11:00 a.m., so its just me and Mati in the morning. Poor dear daughter doesn't get off until 8:30 p.m.. but her dear Hubby will still pick up Kylee at 5:00. It's kind of nice for me. I was able to get all my chores done before Kylee got here. It's not so nice for dear daughter, she misses getting her daughter dinner and ready for bedtime. She's quitting this job at the end of the week, she starts more regular hours at another bank next week. It's so hard juggling motherhood and and working out of the home. I'm so glad I was able to stay home when my kids were growing. We just didn't consider any other way of doing it. I couldn't make enough money to cover day care, clothes, transportation etc. etc. etc. to make it worthwhile. It's a blessing in this day and age when at least one parent can stay home. It's also a sacrifice, It means doing without some material things. The question is, do kids really need a lot of toys, or do they need parents?? Or in our case grandparents??? I'm glad I can fill the role of stay at home g-ma. There are some pretty sad child care situations out there.

Dear Daughter in law, Emily, has chosen to stay home. She did her time as a single working mother, before she married my son. Now she has a 13 year old and will soon have a one year old and a new born. Dear son works hard and they struggle, but I think they feel it's worth it. My oldest dear daughter is a Registered nurse, she works graveyards 3 nights a week and her husband is home with the baby. This seems to be working well for them. She might have to do something different when James quits sleeping so much during the day. Both my son and my son-in-law work and go to school. I remember too well the years we were starting out and our family was growing. It makes me tired thinking about my children's hectic lives. I read about a sixty year old having twins, after invitro fertilization and donated eggs, so her young husband could have children with her. There's a reason we stop producing eggs at a certain age. I guess when she dies, her husband will get a new young wife to raise the kids on her money.

My dear baby boy turns 17 years old tomorrow. The time has just flown by. I thought 35 was about the time to stop having kids and start raising them. Jordan slipped in right under the wire. I can't imagine not having him. Even when he keeps putting off mowing the lawn.

It's such a hard thing to leave your kid and go to work. After doing it for a year I can totally sympathize with Megan and Tori! At least they have you there to watch the babies... hopefully one day they can both experience staying with their girls, it is the best!
