There are three questions that come out of my dear daughters mouths when they pick up their babies. It's always the same three questions, in the same order.
1. Has she been good?
2. Did she have a nap?
3. Did she poop?
Actually the interrogation is a little longer and more detailed. Under the first question, details like whether Kylee has been nice to Mati? Are they sharing? etc. etc..... Under the second question they have to know how long they slept, did they go right down or fight the nap.......??
Then we get to the messy details of poops. How many times did she go poop?? Was it loose or solid? What color was it???
When Kimmy was here I had to look at baby James poop. "Mom, does this poop look normal?"
"James isn't going poop as much as he used to, is that normal?" , "James has been crying more today, do you think he needs to go poop?"
When dear daughters got together they discussed giving birth, breast feeding and poop. I wanted to talk about the book I'm reading, politics, Dancing with the stars.......anything but poop.
I remember being a young mom with new babies and being obsessed with the health of their digestive systems. But, I haven't been concerned about poop since the day Jordan was completely potty trained.
I think poop as a topic for conversation goes back to my childhood. My mother was obsessed with B.M.'s. My first word was "constipation". Mother came from the Cod Liver Oil generation. In the "olden" days a good dose of Cod Liver Oil would cure anything. Thank goodness mother didn't use Cod Liver Oil. (I tried it once induce labor, not only didn't it work, it tasted like...well...poop!) No, My mom had the modern answer to our plumbing problems. It was called
"Senecot Granules." They were crunchy, grapenut like granules, that were supposed to taste like chocolate and be totally natural. They actually tasted like dirt. Actually, I think dirt tastes better.
"Mom I have a headache?" answer "When did you go poop last? Here's some of that good Senecot." It was the same answer for just about every ailment and complaint. Okay I may be exaggerating a little. My point is poop as a topic is just something I've outgrown. Well except for this blog. I refuse to be obsessed with poop. Is that Normal???

poop isn't all we talk about we talk about how cute they are also.
haha!! Love it!! Isn't it so true- that's what you talk about when you are a mom with a young child! Pass on this one: Addy, nap, Pull-up off, poop everywhere- not a pretty sight!!!
