Home Birth Gone Well !!

Sisters, Sisters, never were there such devoted sisters. Darian(age 14) with baby sisters Isabella(age 19 mos.) and Ruby(age 3 days).

James says, "I guess my new cousin is pretty cute!"

Kylee takes a time out to read Dr. Seuss. "I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them Sam I am!"

This in the Roundy family. Uncle Cloyd with baby James and Aunt Kimmy holding baby Ruby.
Kimmy is an RN. She checked out Ruby from head to toe and pronouncd her perfect. Of course we all knew that.

This is big sister Darian. Darian is so pretty. Baby Ruby got here just in time. This picture was taken just before she went to the airport. She's spending some time in Texas with Grandma and Grandpa Howard. We were getting nervous that she wouldn't get to meet her dear sister until she got back.

We decided purple is her color. I had to go out and buy her soft purple blanket.

This picture shows how much hair Baby Ruby has. Her eyes are still a little swollen. I was surprised her head wasn't more pointy. She has a beautiful shaped head. Mommy said she spent so much time in the birth canal her head should have been cone shaped. Once she decided to come out, "three pushes and I'm out of here." Perfect head and all.

This is dear daughter in law Emily with my sweet Bella. I was holding baby Ruby for awhile when this picture was taken. Bella enjoyed getting some mommy time.

I'm not for or against home births. I haven't voiced my opinion one way or the other. As long as the mothers healthy and baby isn't experiencing any pre-birth problems, go for it. I've had good hospital experiences and bad ones. I've had good Doctors for the most part who mean well. Some have been a little agressive, some a little too passive, and some I've just hated from the minute they walked in. My baby doctors have all been good guys, but I have let them know what I want. They listened and did their best for me and my babies. Having a baby on the living room floor, doesn't sound all that beautiful to me. I personally envision low light and candles and zen music in the background. I think I could do the labor thing in a warm whirlpool, but I've seen what comes out with the baby and I wouldn't want to be in the water with it. I would deliver in a comfortable bed with throw away bedding. ( As I said, it does get messy.) But, when it comes time to push, I don't think it matters where you are. Just get out of my way and let me get this kid out. Of course things can go wrong, and then I'm grateful I live now and not a hundred years ago, if a C-section was needed to save the life of my baby, I would want a clean, sterile operating room and a well trained surgeon on hand. My mother was delivered at home and so was my dad. My grand aunts were midwives. I think if your a nice calm mom, and everything in the pregnancy goes well, go ahead and have a home birth if you want. If your like me and your absolutely sure your baby is going to be born with a cleft pallet (I've allready admitted to being a little, okay a lot OCD) you probably should be in a hospital.

WELCOME TO THE WORLD BABY RUBY LYNN

I would give Narnia a 4 stars out of 5 for all 7 books! I enjoyed them very much! Now to just wait for BD. But what will I read then? haha :)

It was fun having ya all up here. Ruby is so beautiful. It was fun to be apart of her first few days and to welcome her into our family
