Sabbath, a day of rest

I can't sit down today without falling asleep. Because the girls were sick today, I could actually concentrate on the meetings. As I sit here, I can barely remember the meeting. We were late, so I had to sit in the back. It was one of those dozing off hours. You know, trying to keep your head up and not jerking it up and looking silly. I vaguely remember Sunday School. I know I slept through Relief Society. I came home, cut a piece of cheesecake, and poured a glass of milk. I took the snack into my bedroom and started reading an article in a magazine. Next thing I know it was about 3:00 in the afternoon. I managed to avoid getting up for another hour after that.

I usually have Kylee at church. She loves the nursery. She needs the social interraction and religious instruction. I've been taking her with me since she was just a few months old. She recognizes pictures of Jesus, loves the music and gets excited to go to Church. Mati's mom takes her to sacrament meeting sometimes, but keeping a nursing baby is a little harder. I'm just going to have to start bringing her now she's older. It will be 6 months before she's old enough for nursery, but she can start getting used to the routine. I hope her mom will let me. Kylee's mom is good about bringing Kylee to me on Sunday mornings, even though it means she can't sleep in. I hope and pray someday she'll follow her little girls example and start coming too. At least she knows it important enough to get out of bed and get her ready on her day off.

Here I am 51 years old. I used to say there is a time and season for everything. I figured when the kids were raised I would have time to do so many things. Gardening, genealogy, photography etc. etc. Now my kids are about raised and I'm too tired to do anything. I used to put my children down for naps and accomplish things while they were sleeping. Now, I put the grandkids down for a nap and take a nap too. I guess thats why I'm blogging. I always had a desire to be a writer. I have written entire novels in my head. I just have a hard time getting my thoughts out of my mind and down on paper or computer. Maybe, just writing, writing anything, might just be the key to all the untold stories in my sub conscience.

I just have to stay awake long enough. It's unfair, I finally have the time and not the energy. My Grandma used to say that "getting old ain't for sissy's". Grandma was right.

Yay, I'm so glad you have become part of the blogging world! What a great grandma you are. When I read your blog I think of my mom and how she will need to be with Liz's baby. You are a great example!! And can I just say I feel as tired as you and I'm 20 years younger- just great!

Hi Norma! I've done it and created my own blog now too so we can all keep tabs. Here's the address: diaryofahippie.blogspot.com

Also,I know how you can add photos: when you compose a post, there are a bunch of little icons in the top of the message window, like to change the font and stuff, and if you hover your mouse over one of the little icons, it will show you how to add a photo. It says "add image."
